Gillian Ehrlich, Family Nurse Practitioner, discovered her appreciation of health
while teaching outdoor education in Puget Sound, where she was able to share in
all the elements needed for a healthy life:  food, shelter, community, exercise,
purpose and proficiency, personal growth and fresh air. In 1999, she deepened
her understanding of physiology, prevention and disease management with
training in Ayurveda and then solidified her foundation in modern medicine by
capping eight years of cardiac/internal medicine nursing at Harborview Medical
Center with a Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner
from the University of Washington. Explorations into integrative medicine
continue through enrollment in Functional Medicine's certification program. Her
stated mission is to continue serving as an agent of community development and
social change through the provision of collaborative, thoughtful and
person-centered integrative healthcare. Her secret mission, however, is that we
find ways through our food, lifestyle, and relationship choices to survive the
inevitable transitions and challenges of our lives with our self-esteem, curiosity
and mettle intact.

Dr Gillian continues to work at Harborview Medical Center in the Medical Respite
program and sees patients individually at Swedish South Lake Union Clinic on
Fridays, by appointment. Call 206-890-0190 or email her at: with questions or to schedule an appointment.
